My coworker Gabi Mena and me studied together at AdaLab and today we are writing simple tips you need to know to become a Front-End Developer. We have separated them into sections and these are the most importants. Enjoy the reading.

Organization

Trello is an excellent tool to organize and prioritize your projects with boards, lists, and cards. In order to announce to the team the issues they have to solve. It is easy to use and very intuitive. Get Trello for free!!

We start to use Slack, that it’s an application to send message with your team. This application includes a lot of tools like Dropbox, Google Drive, Twitter, Skype… I’s free and you can access to the computer or with the app mobile. Slack is more than a tool for work, it’s a community because a lot of members make public contributions.
You can create public or private channels for the projects and add people to this channel. It’s very easy share archives, photos and documents, you only have to drag and drop in the chat, but you can’t share folders, only documents.
If you are writing and the conversation is interesting, you can include an expression with the emojis, and create a new emojis.
I think that the most important characteristic of this communication method is that you can paste code in code format.

Design

If you want to be a Front-End Developer, the first thing you need to know is HTML and CSS. HTML describes the structure of a web page and the elements are like blocks where you define the look and layout of content with the CSS.

Bootstrap is the world’s most popular Front-End component library. It helps with developing in HTML, CSS, and JS. Bootstrap is modular and consists of a series of Less stylesheets that implement the various components of the toolkit. It will help you save a lot of time.
With bootstrap, you can have a website in a few days and in mobile version with generic and beautiful styles. Bootstrap documentation is easy to understand.

Sass is the most mature, stable, and powerful grade CSS extension language in the world. It is compatible with all versions of CSS and used to separate the CSS file in small modules to better understand and maintain of it.

Programming

JavaScript is a great language for coding for beginners, we’ve gathered some of the best learning resources around and built a JavaScript course to help new developers get up and running.

AJAX is a web development technique for creating interactive applications. It maintains asynchronous communication with the server in the background. It is possible to make changes on the pages without having to reload them.

Gulp is a toolkit for automating painful or time-consuming tasks in your development workflow. It is simple usage, efficient and quality Ecosystem.

Methodologies

Agile Scrum is a framework within which people can address complex adaptive problems, while productively and creatively delivering products of the highest possible value.

Bem (Block Element Modifier) is a methodology that helps you to achieve reusable components and code sharing in the Front-End.

Others

The consola is an important tool in the creation the repositories. If you want to publish your page, you need to push with the control version. This tool is very necessary and you have a lot of commands to use it.

Git is a version control system that you need for your code. You can make branches experiment and come back to the first version or others. And to complete this you have GitHub that is a web-page on which you can publish your Git repositories and collaborate with other people.
