Nowadays people are more and more aware of how the world around them looks like. And that concerns digital landscape as well. There are a lot of UI elements to choose from. I would like to highlight the must-have UI elements of modern web design (in my opinion).

Unique Font as a Brand Identifier

This element is one of the best ways to identify the company among others and to stay different from competitors. Usually, typography with one (sometimes two) fonts is used for the whole website. It should be a readable and visible font because the most important information is perceived through the text.

Don’t forget to pay attention to choosing a font that is supported by popular browsers and computers and will not cause awkwardness on displays of different devices.

Flat Design

The last couple of years many companies said no to web design that gives a perception of three dimensions, and shifted to flat style.

The pros of flat web design are:

Users perceive information faster
Assets load more quickly
Content looks cleaner and more consistent

Big Product Images & Short Product Video

From the first sight, to give users a better idea about the product/services, it’s worth it to add a big product image or short product video at the top of the landing page. This approach provides the look at different features of the product/services and highlights the valuable information for the users. For instance, at the beginning users/customers could see all the benefits of the product/services and they will think to try it.

Efficient Hamburger Menu For Mobile Devices

The hamburger menu is a highly useful feature in the mobile app with various functionality to hide visually “unnecessary” functionality behind. Place it where people might expect to find it. Today trend in web design is to make it possible to toggle a sidebar menu by tapping hamburger icon that would be shifted to the opposite side. Many big companies have already turned to this kind of navigation.
