Forget smartphones and the internet. Today, we live in a world where the term emerging technologies means something new every day. There is virtually no limit (pun intended) to how we apply these technologies to our daily lives.

In a tech-driven world, design ensures that technology helps businesses grow and evolve, but more importantly, that it helps us grow and evolve; to help us fully actualize and become the best version of ourselves. Design ensures that we’re creating new things not because we can, but because we should.

These new possibilities should enable each and every one of us to express our creativity, enable our pursuit of knowledge, improve our well-being and fulfill our desire to positively contribute society. These things are an innate part of our human nature to assign meaning to our lives. And what is technology, if not to further this purpose.

Thus far, the mobile revolution has proven that well-designed technology shapes our culture: it defines our interpersonal relationships, it changes the way we work, it elevates how we communicate, it dictates how we manage our finances, it influences how we consume news.

We’ve also seen how well-designed technology shapes our brains and our view of the world: it affects how we relate to each other and think of intimacy, it manipulates our capacity for empathy and creativity, it influences our problem solving ability.

At MSTQ, we believe design will continue to shape the future. An abbreviation of the Arabic word for “future” (al-mustaqbal), the company was founded on a vision for a “digital agency” that has no developers, no programmers, no project managers, no account managers — just Designers (with a capital D).

We’re not concerned with pushing the limits of technology, rather, our mission is to push the limits of what it means to be human, for good.
