As a web designer, you got into the job to create excellent websites and software. What you may not have realised, though, is that there’s a lot of work that goes towards you being able to do this. Writing web design proposals is one such job that you’ll have to do again and again. Here’s how you can write a web design proposal that will get you the job, every time.

Use A Template

Now, every business you go to will have different needs, and so you’ll have to create your web design proposal around them. However, there’s plenty of things you’ll need to include again and again. Because of this, it’s a good idea to create a template for yourself. When you come to write a new proposal, you can change out sections as needed, which will help you out when you’re up against deadlines.

Don’t Take Too Long To Write A Proposal

2. What will my money buy me?

3. How long will this take?

Define The Problem

You’ll need to define exactly what the problem is that you’re looking to solve with your website design. Does your customer need somewhere they can sell online? Does the website need to show customers past work they’ve done? Whatever it is, you’ll need to show how your plan will solve it for them.

You’ll also need to lay out your goals for the production of the site. What do you want to do, and when do you want to do it by? The more clear you can be on this point, the better.

There’s no reason why you should write a proposal on your own. Try these online tools to help you get it written well:

Create A Cost Breakdown

It’s much easier for a client to see exactly what they’re paying for if you break it all down for them. The best way to do this is to list out exactly what work will need to be done, and list what each job will cost them. Remember to write this list in a way that shows you’re solving the client’s problem. For example, you may write:

· Build website for restaurant: $1700

· Write website copy and include quality images: $800

· Ensure website is found in searches for restaurants and broader topics: $1000

Proofread And Edit

Finally, before you send that proposal you’ll need to edit it. Give yourself enough time to come back to the proposal and read through it carefully, ensuring that there are no errors in the text. Remember, you’re bidding for the job. You want to show that you pay attention to detail. Editing your proposal carefully will do this for you.
