Sections in Zeplin

Here’s a sneak peek!

Recently, we’ve been getting a lot of requests for better options to organize screens in a Zeplin project. We brainstormed on different options, especially looking for something that’ll work well with the existing Tags feature.

I personally love tags since they give you more flexibility on organizing screens. You can use them for project management (To-do, Doing, Done), defining states and so on. While building Zeplin we sometimes even use tags to assign members, so that developers/designers know which screens they’re responsible from.

The negative side of just using tags is that your dashboard will still be a mess if you have a lot of screens. After brainstorming, we ended up going with sections! Here’s how your project dashboard will look like using sections.

One other option we considered was folders. Sadly, tags and folders don’t get along too well. Check out this blog post where we explain why we decided to go with tags instead of folders in the first place. I’ll probably need to write a second blog post on how Zeplin users use tags!

Hope you’ll enjoy sections, I’d love to hear what you think!
