Trae is an AI-powered code editor launched by ByteDance – the company behind TikTok! It's an IDE similar to Cursor AI allowing devs to prompt LLMs such as Claude Sonnet and OpenAI, generating code and editing multiple files - just like Claude's composer feature. Key features of Trae:

1. AI powered by OpenAI GPT or Anthropic's Claude models, currently available for free 👀

2. Multimodal: Trae can interpret images for code tasks - similar to Cursor etc

3. Builder Mode: for automated project creation. The AI actively reads the contents of project files, breaking down tasks, and executing them step by step

4. It's another VS Code fork, but really well made like other ByteDance products.

5. Available on macOS, with a Windows version on the way.
