Last December we released Framer Cloud, a workflow built for rapid iteration and team collaboration. In that time, you’ve shared over 25,000 project versions and a staggering 2,500,000 files, putting our one-click share workflow to good use. But if we’ve gotten any feedback, it’s been centered around issues of security and control.

Today we’re introducing Cloud Access, a settings panel and workflow that allows you to control exactly how your work is being shared.

Share easily, with peace of mind.

Designers that use Framer work on teams at some of the most innovative companies in the world, where the privacy of their work is of paramount importance. Conversely, creative agencies want to retain similar levels of security, while still being able to share projects with specific clients. To cater to all different work environments, team sizes and client relationships, the new Cloud Access feature will put the sharing settings back in your hands.

The next time you open your Cloud Dashboard, you’ll see a new share button when you hover on a project. Clicking this will open up the sharing settings, where you’ll be able to define access levels. Looking for the widest distribution? Toggle to give “anyone with the link” access to your project. Collaborating on a feature? Give specific team members an additional layer of notifications by personally inviting them to join a project.

Cloud Dashboard, it’s for everyone

Sending a framer.cloud link to someone without a Framer license? No problem. From today, anyone you invite to join your project will receive an email invitation to view your prototype. They’ll be prompted to log in and claim a Cloud dashboard using their preferred social login. From there, they’ll be able to view your shared project, along with titles, description and all previous versions. Every time you upload a new version to Cloud, they’ll receive a notification in their Dashboard. Get the feedback you need to keep iterating to perfection.

Cloud Access puts the management of your project in your hands, giving you both the security to share and the freedom to innovate.

You’ll now also have more fine-grained control over separate project versions, with the ability to delete old versions and keep your work history tidy. Handy for when you need to invite a client to view your progress.

Supercharged sharing, available for Enterprise

For Enterprise clients, settings can also be customized at a company administration level, prohibiting any prototypes from being shared externally. Employees can share company-wide, or choose to keep prototype access restricted to specific people. The Enterprise license is available for teams of all sizes, and boasts some additional features.

  • User Management Panel
  • Custom Framer Cloud
  • Enterprise Grade Security
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration
  • Restrict Access To Employees Only

Full transparency: Cloud Access is still in Beta. Though your private projects will always remain private, we will continue to make improvements to the service.
